Our Favorite Fall Tradition: Flashlights, Costumes, and Halloween Surprises

One of the most thrilling events we host each fall at the Blue Island Park District is our Flashlight Halloween Egg Haunt. It’s the perfect mix of spooky fun and family adventure—and this year, we’re excited to welcome your little ghosts and goblins back to Memorial Park on Thursday, October 10!

This isn’t your typical egg hunt. Once the sun sets, kids ages 4 to 9 will grab their flashlights and bags and venture into the dark in search of hidden Halloween treasures. The result? Lots of laughs, excitement, and unforgettable fall memories.

We encourage everyone to dress in costume and get into the Halloween spirit. Just don’t forget your flashlight and a bag to collect all those goodies!

Check-in starts at 7:00 PM, and the hunt kicks off promptly at 7:30 PM. The fee is $8 for residents, $10 for non-residents, and $12 at the door. We recommend registering early—you’ll save a few bucks and be sure to get in on the fun.

Rain or shine, the event goes on. So pack those layers, prep your flashlights, and get ready for one of our most anticipated fall programs.

Events like this are a great example of how we create safe, exciting, and community-building fun right here in Blue Island.
