Making Music!

Making Music is easy in this highly interactive and
hands-on workshop. Anna will lead students as they
make and play modern folk instruments, sing songs
and do a little dancing. We’ll make and play drums,
shakers, tambourines and more! This class will have
a multi-cultural flavor focusing on folk instruments

Join us for an imaginative hour of flexibility, focus, and
coordination. We will be combining yoga and basic

Boxing Boot Camp

Take a boxing boot camp with a professional
boxing trainer! Learn the skill sets needed to
compete or just take in a good workout! We will
work on punching, timing, movement, balance
and stance through upper-body cardio,
mitt training, jumping rope. The last day of eachboxing session we will travel to Don the Bombs gym and
practice in a real ring! Instructors also have 20+ years experience working with the hearing impaired.

Hip Hop

Victor Rodriguez, alumnae of Blue Island’s very own
Cardinal Dance Team will teach you the latest
street-style dance trends. Dancers will explore
breakdancing, isolations and pop/lock combinations,hip-hop just to name a few. Victor also mixes his own music
which will make for a unique dance experience.

Community Gardening

Cultivate your own organic garden! Designated areas
will be given to participants to create and maintain
their very own garden. Anna Stange and guest speakers
will teach composting, seed starting, organic growing,
harvesting and seed saving. Learn and spread the word
of good nutrition and sustainability practices. Gardeners
can also access their gardens during pool hours.
