Yoga
Michael LaRocca has been teaching since 1970,
including Purdue University and Moraine Valley
Community College. He has studied with Yogi Sri
Nerode of the Bengal Province of India for over sixteen
years. Yoga classes include relaxing exercises which
relieve tension and restore good health; breathing
techniques for a higher level of vitality, and meditation
for calmness and clarity of the mind.

towel to class.

Boxing Boot Camp
Take a boxing boot camp with a professional boxing
trainer! Learn the skill sets needed to compete or just
take in a good workout! We will work on punching,
timing, movement, balance and stance through
upper-body cardio, mitt training, jumping rope.
The last day of each session we will travel to Don the
Bombs gym and practice in a real ring! Instructors also
have 20+ years experience working with the hearing
impaired.

Adult Beginning Dulcimer
Learn to play this iconic, yet surprisingly easy, American
Folk instrument, popularized in the 1960s & 70s by the
playing of Jean Ritchie. Learn to play solo, ensemble and
accompaniment to singing. Students will learn to play
melody, strum chords, tune the dulcimer and basic
music reading. You will be able to play at least one song
the very first class! Music selections will span folk,
classical & folk rock.

Community Gardening
Cultivate your own organic garden! Designated areas
will be given to participants to create and maintain
there very own garden. Anna Stange and guest speakers
will teach composting, seed starting, organic growing,
harvesting and seed saving. Learn and spread the word
of good nutrition and sustainability practices. Gardeners
can also access their gardens during pool hours.

from Blue Island and beyond. CLiCK wants people who

Artists’ Space: Summer Workshops for Adults
Come out and explore the variety of mediums with Chicago based artist Susannah Papish. Susannah is currently
teaching at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Moraine Valley Community College and St. Xavier University.
Susannah’s work has been exhibited at galleries throughout the Chicagoland area including: [prak sis],
Contemporary Art Workshop, Gallery 400, Everybody Paints and Paul WHO?, The Beverly Arts Center and Skestos
Gabriele Gallery. Recipient of Community Arts Assistance Program grants 2005-2007 and finalist, Beverly Library,
Public Art Commission.

If weather permits, workshops will be taught outdoors in the upper pavilion otherwise all workshops meet in the
Middle Room in the Memorial Park Field House on Monday evenings. The workshops are for adults and mature
teens 16 & Up. All classes Min 3/Max15. Supplies will be provided.

using oil paint, a 2-part workshop.
