TRIP RULES: The Blue Island Park District Is always interested in providing our residents with fun trips for the whole family. In an effort to provide everyone attending park trips a safe and fun experience, we ask that you follow and understand a list of simple rules. All participants attending park trips are responsible for transportation to and from the indicated meeting point. In most cases, trips will start and end at the Memorial Park Field house, located at 12804 S. Highland Ave. Blue Island, IL. unless specified under the trip’s details. To avoid being left behind, arrive 15 minutes prior to departure time. Park shuttle will load participants 5 minutes prior to departure time.  We require that all participants 10 and under be accompanied by an adult. If you will not be able to attend a park trip with your child under the specified age, you must make arrangements for an adult to supervise your child during the entirety of the park trip. The Park District using the buddy system for trips with participants of age. Participants will be placed in groups of no less then 3 members and 1 adult supervisor. At no time will it be permissible for trip participants to roam on their own. In order to provide the reasonable prices, the Park District will not be responsible for providing meals to any of the participants. Unless stated in the trip description, you will be responsible for your own meals. No refunds or credits for trips will be issued unless we can replace you with someone from the wait list. All Trip reservations must be done in person, unless prior communication with the registration office is made.

Medieval Times Trip
Salutations! Care to partake in a journey filled with swordplay, jousting, brave knights, and cornish hens?
Experience all the excitement as medieval knights donning authentic armor clash for both your entertainment and for the ultimate glory, the title of “King’s Champion”. Those Chosen to take this quest will enjoy both a no holds barred competition of bravery and a meal fit for a king. Included in your fair will be a 4 course meal, Transportation to and from the castle, and of course the show!
LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE. Participation is on a first come, first served basis. Participants 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Participant is responsible for transportation to and from Park District.

Paintball Trip

If you participated in last summer’s paintball trip, then no words need to be spoken,  we’ll see you there. For those who did not and are interested in alternative sports, listen up! The sport of Paintballing has become one of the fastest growing sports in the country. with over 10 major fields in Illinois alone, it’s no wonder why paintball has become so popular in our area. This is your chance to experience this awesome sport first hand. Registrations must be submitted 3 weeks prior to trip.

No experience or equipment is required to attend these trips. Registration includes Transportation, Mark Rental, Marker rental, Unlimited air refills and 200 paint rounds. It is recommended to prepare for purchase of additional paint rounds. A sack lunch is recommended. Park District will supply a cooler for storage. All Participants under 18 years of age will require a notarized, signed waiver form from Badlandz (available from the Park District). No exceptions! Limit 12 participants per trip.

Anderson Japanese Garden

Anderson Japanese Gardens is a place for reflection, serenity and renewal. In our hectic and stressful world, Anderson Japanese Gardens opens minds to a different culture while offering guests a place of peace and tranquility where they will find healing, renewal, inspiration, and a re-energized soul. Join our small travel group on our quest to find ourselves in a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. VERY LIMITED SEATING WILL BE AVAILABLE.

Starved Rock Park – Illinois River Tour

Enjoy a relaxing  tour on the Belle of the Rock, an old fashion open deck paddle boat.  The guided tour is relaxing, fun, and educational.  You will enjoy the scenery and hear history of the Native American population that used to thrive in the Starved Rock Location.  You will also learn about the History of the Illinois River and Starved Rock.

A lunch detour will be taken after departure from Boat Tour. Lunch will be your responsibility.

Jelly Belly Factory Tour

Back by popular demand! Buckle up as we hit the road with a jelly bean destination. Sweet-tooths will shout for joy on this park trip. Located in Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin, the Jelly Belly Factory is designed for visitors to enjoy and taste the magic of all the flavors the Jelly Belly Company creates. Which flavor will be your favorite? Will it be one of the original 50, or maybe it will be one of their “stranger” creations. There’s only one way to find out. LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE!!

That’s not all! Lunch time will detour this trip to the incredible world of yesteryear at Apple Hollar’s Restaurant. Enjoy an ambiance that can only be described by seeing in person. You’ll enjoy Apple Hollar’s Farm Park, packed with live chickens, rabbits, pigs, and a… goat bridge.  Those reckoning for a good old-fashion meal can enjoy one from the menu at their family restaurant.

Anime Central FieldTrip

Calling all Anime Lovers!! The Blue Island Park District is taking a trip to Anime Central, Chicago’s largest Anime, Manga, and Japanese Pop Culture expo. Trip includes: all-day admission into convention, and transportation to and from convention. Participants are responsible for their own meals (lunch & dinner) – sack lunches are suggested. Anime central 2012 is being held at Rosemont, IL. This event includes a huge exhibit hall, a massive video game room, concerts, dances, educational panels and workshops, premiere screenings, autograph sessions, 24-hour video rooms, tabletop gaming and much, much more! Limit spaces available.
