1.         Motion to approve minutes of the August 26, 2009 Board Meeting, and the
minutes of September 16, 2009 Finance, Policy and Operations Committee Meeting and the Recreation and Programs Committee Meeting.
2.         Motion to approve Accounts Payable in the amount of $87,397.27.
3.         Motion to approve Payroll in the amount of $61,167.22 (period ending 8/15/2009-
8/29/09).
4.         Motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report for publication in the Forum.
5.         Motion to approve seal coating at Hart Park.
6.         Motion to approve the demolition specifications for the Memorial Park Stadium.
7.         Motion to approve the purchase of wood chips from Game Time in the amount of $1334.00 for Perillo Park.
8.         Motion to grant Chris Sobczak a $1000.00 spending limit on the purchase of    safety supplies.
9.         Motion to approve Ken’s Tree service to remove the 2 large trees on the East side of the Memorial Park Field House for a cost of $2,100.00.
10.       Motion to approve waiving of fees for DCFS/SOAR movie making class.
11.       Motion to approve Marchione Electric, Inc. as contractor for the pavilion lighting in the amount of $6,900.00.
12.       Motion to approve conference fees, lodging and a $100.00 per diem for all full-time staff and commissioners to attend the IAPD conference in January. Note: Employees must attend at least 2 workshops and report back to the board.
13.       Motion to approve new entrance, swings, rededication plaque, and safety surface for Perillo Park.
14.       Motion to approve the purchase of a trophy case for Memorial Park.
15.       Motion to approve the registration form and rules for the Bark Park.

Executive Session for the purpose of discussion and consideration of employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, exempt under Section 2(c) (1) of the Open Meetings Act, 5 ILCS 120/1 et seq.

13.       Motion to approve the purchase of a trophy case for Memorial Park made by Commissioner Zylman, seconded by Commissioner Bilotto. All present voting Aye.

14.       Motion to approve the registration form and rules for the Bark Park made by Commissioner Zylman, seconded by Commissioner Bilotto. All present voting Aye.

15.       Motion to discuss with ComEd about acquiring the land located west of the intersection of Ann Street and James Street in Blue Island, Illinois made by Commissioner Murphy, seconded by Commissioner Zylman. All present voting Aye.

16.      Motion to approve the Hot Rod Halloween Event with attractions to include: Car Show , Carnival, Fishing Derby, Fish Fry, and Pumpkin Carving made by Commissioner Bilotto, seconded by Commissioner Zylman. All present voting Aye.

17.      Motion to approve Wilder Architectural, Inc. as the Architect for the Memorial Park Stadium Project made by Commissioner Bilotto, seconded by Commissioner Zylman. All present voting Aye.

18       Motion to go into executive session for the purpose of discussion and consideration of employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, exempt under Section 2(c) (1) of the Open Meetings Act, 5 ILCS 120/1 et seq. made at 7:37 P.M. by Commissioner Bilotto, seconded by Commissioner Zylman. All present voting Aye.

Next Meeting Agenda Items:

Public Comments: Commissioner Bilotto read the letter received from 14^th District Senator Emil Jones, III and 28^th District State Representative, Robert A. Rita allocating $150,000 for capital improvements and $150,000 for infrastructure and property acquisition. Alderman Dexter Johnson thanked the board for all its improvements and efforts. He added that he would like to bring the “Untouchables” trophies to the Park District for display. Commissioner Spizzirri invited him to the rededication of Perillo Park. Alderman Johnson graciously accepted. Cathie Spizzirri suggested taking commemorative photos of the dogs at the grand opening of the Bark Park, using the park district logo as a backdrop. Mr. Reardon asked about the guard rail at Kiddie Korral and about the Memorial Park Stadium Meeting on October 21, 2009. Adam Ooms wants to present an estimate for landscaping for next year’s lawn maintenance.
