Introducing Bitty Soccer! An indoor soccer league for children 4 through 12yrs of age. This spring time soccer league is a great way to keep your child active and learn important skills such as team work and good sportsmanship. Don’t wait till summer to be active, register today!! Limited space is available. Registration includes: Team jersey, trophies and awards.

Winter Weather UPDATE blog – New Sled Launch is OPEN!!!

Welcome to the Winter weather Update Blog! This page was created in the efforts to update the public on Blue Island Park District weather reliant activities such as the Hart Park Ice Rink and our Memorial Park Sledding Hill and Sled Launch.

Memorial Park Sledding Hill: Located at 12804 S. Highland Ave. Blue Island, IL. 60406

Status: Closed till snowfall

Hart Park Ice Rink: Located at 123rd and Western Ave. Blue Island, IL. 60406
The Hart Park Ice Rink is south chicago land’s largest “Free to skate”* ice rink. Our rink is dependent on the weather and elements, because of this, opening day and hours will vary thru ought the winter season. Check this update page regularly to check on it’s status.

Status: Due to the weather Hart Park ice rink will not be open for the remainder of the season.

Ice Rink Hours: M – F 3pm – pm Sat – Sun Noon – 8pm

DIGITAL ART, WITH THE PARK

Create* Creative Workshops

Bring out the creative side inside of you. Create* is a series of workshops designed to give you an opportunity to delve into the world of design and multimedia. Get a hands-on approach to many creative fields while using the latest technology. Learn the basics of programs such as Photoshop and Premier, while familiarizing yourself with technology like PC tablets and digital image capturing devices. The time to express your creative side is now!

1. Photo Manipulation: Learn how to edit, enhance, and manipulated your images to your liking using Adobe Photoshop.

2. Digital Coloring : Take your drawings to the next level! Learn how to add life to your sketches by adding beautiful color using a computer and a PC tablet.

Ice Skate Lessons

Ice Skate Lessons

Impress your friends with your new skating skills. Sign up for skating lessons this winter season and avoid winter wipe-outs. Ice Skate Lessons will be separated by age groups and are limited in space. Sign up soon!

Santa Claus is coming to a park near you! Santa will be visiting each and every one of the parks in the 12 days leading up to the holiday! Visit one of the parks on the following day between 6p-8p and get your picture taken with Santa inside the Santa House! Bring your cameras!

SAVE A TURKEY – GIVE A NAME!

NAME THAT TURKEY

This Thanksgiving the Blue Island Park District will be home to two Special guests, Mr. and Mrs. Turkey! Unfortunately, these two love birds are currently nameless and they need your help. We need your help naming these two birds. The two most creative names will be selected by a panel of judges. The two winners, alongside a special guest, will have the honor of pardoning our two poultry friends from this year’s dinner table. Stop by the Memorial Park Field House to submit your entry. Mr. and Mrs. Turkey will be here waiting for you!

Este Thanksgiving el Blue Island Park District será el hogar de dos invitados especiales, el Sr. y la Sra. Turkey! Por desgracia, estos dos pájaros del amor son actualmente sin nombre y necesitan su ayuda. Necesitamos su ayuda para nombrar a estos dos pájaros. Los dos nombres más creativos serán seleccionados por un panel de jueces. Los dos ganadores, junto a un invitado especial, tendrán el honor de perdonar a nuestros dos amigos aves de la mesa de la cena de este año. Pase por el Memorial Parque de Field House para presentar su entrada. El Sr. y la Sra. Turkey estará aquí esperando su ayuda.

Mrs. Claus is making her list and checking it twice as she searches for Blue Island’s TOP MODELS-that’s YOU! Bring your best attitude and learn about inner beauty over six weeks as you prepare for your walk down the runway.

All who register will explore the world of fashion, personal style, hair design, nail care and the art of make-up. They will then use all these newly acquired skills in Mrs. Claus’ Fashion Extravaganza held on Dec 11th . Be a part of the holiday fun!

FISHING DERBY- THE FISH ARE HERE!!

Get your fishing rod and bait ready to compete for the supreme prize. The Blue Island fishing derby is a great way to spend time with your family and good friends. Held at the Memorial Park Pool, this fishing derby offers all of the fun of outdoor fishing close to home. come early and prepare yourself to win various challenges and prizes! The Official Fishing derby will be held on October 16th from 3pm till 6pm. Prize presentation at 6:30pm.

Obtenga su caña de pescar y anzuelos para compiten para el premio supremo. El Blue Island fishing derby es una buena forma de pasar tiempo con su familia y los amigos. Celebrada en la piscina Memorial Park, el Fishing Derby ofrece toda la diversión de la pesca al aire libre cerca de su casa. venga temprano y prepararse para ganar varios desafíos y premios! El Derby de Pesca oficial se realizará el 16 de octubre de 3 p.m. hasta 6 p.m.. Presentación de Premios a las 6:30 pm.
